Meridian Economics has made submissions to NERSA in response to its consultation papers on the Transitional Generation Pricing and Vesting Contract Framework and the Wholesale Electricity Pricing Methodology. The work was commissioned by the South African Electricity Traders Association (SAETA), with the analysis and recommendations developed independently by Meridian. Five documents are available below: an integrated comment addressing both consultation papers together, given the close interaction between the vesting contract and wholesale pricing arrangements; two accompanying documents setting out Meridian’s responses to the specific stakeholder questions posed by NERSA in each consultation paper; and two presentations delivered by Dr Grové Steyn at the respective public hearings.
